Workshop with Mark Oxtoby. Mark will be running a free workshop for students aged 7-18yrs old.
Mark has worked extensively in West End and has recently finished a run in Phantom of the Opera and before that, Joseph with Lee Mead.
He is looking for enthusiastic children who are keen to work hard and learn from all his experience.
Mark will be setting up a Theatre Company with us in January and we will be using this opportunity to find hidden talents and potential company members (please see notes).
Mark is going to do a production number from Bugsy Malone – Bad Guys. If you are interested in taking part in this FREE workshop, you will need to learn the lyrics before the workshop (please see notes).
There only 40 spaces on this workshop so places will be allocated on a ‘first come’ basis.

Come and see our girls in The Nutcracker performed at The Churchill Theatre on DVD at TAPA.
Some of the girls who performed will be there to answer questions and it's all to raise money for The Samantha Dickinson Brain Tumour Trust.
Bring your PJ's and a bean bag/cushion and some popcorn and join us for a wonderful performance.

In order to reflect the enormous amount of talent we have here at TAPA, we are holding our very own competition to show this.
It will run in a very similar way to out previous Choreography Competitions. We are offering a workshop in the morning followed by the competition in the afternoon. We have had a lot of fun in the past and seen outstanding performances from dancers and singers.

The format is as follows:
• You can enter all categories but not in the same one twice
• If you are in a duet or group dance/theatre piece you must enter into the age group of the OLDEST competitor
• You must have you music edited to the correct length (please see music section) and on a named CD or on an iPod at the right place in it’s on playlist
• When the category you have entered is running, all competitors must remain backstage


The competition will be judged by Tanya Robb (please see workshop details) and an associate (TBA).
TAPA may combine sections or classes when entries are small, divide a class when entries are large, and have the power to make any other regulations, or interpret or qualify any of these rules as occasion may arise.
Competitors must dance in order as in the programme (to be displayed at TAPA and at Hayes School) and be backstage at the commencement and during the progress of their class.

Workshop details
Before the competition we are holding a WE WILL ROCK YOU workshop with Tanya Robb. Tanya is a well accomplished performer and is really looking forward to working with the students of TAPA. Tanya will be using this time to give students a taster of this amazing musical in preparation for our Performance Experience later in the year when we will expand on the workshop material and incorporate more numbers. If you aren’t sure about taking part in The Performance Experience then come along and meet Tanya and give it a try and you don’t have to commit to the main show at the workshop.
We will be showing the audience what we have achieved with a demonstration.

Drinking wine and eating crudites and dip!!

Another of our (in)famous quiz nights!

This year you need to bring a tenner with you for all your food and entertainment and a few pound coins to play the little games in between rounds.

We are getting a fish and chip supper in but if you prefer chicken just let us know a week in advance.

Bring your own beverages, glasses, Tommy K, bread and butter if you fancy butties - oh, and a couple of brain cells!!

You can enter with a ready made team and buy a table (up to 10 players on a team) or buy a few tickets and get teamed up on the night.

The money raised from the evening will go directly to TAPA PA to continue improving the environment here at Academy House.

We will also do a collection for 'The Chartwell Unit' at The Pru Hospital as they all do such amazing work.

The whole school will take part in a musical extravaganza Singing and dancing their way through the stars and planets.

Shows are
Friday 7pm, Saturday 2pm + 7pm, Sunday 2pm.

Rehearsals are
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday after school at the Theatre.

Briony Price will be spending an afternoon with TAPA and passing on some of her repertoire knowledge.
It's guaranteed to be fantastic fun with insight into 'the business'.
Workshop class times will follow.
Work covered will be:
