Josie Brightwell

Josie trained at The Central School Of Speech and Drama and received a 1st class BA (Hons) in Acting.

Since graduating her credits include: Judy Porter in ‘Call The Midwife’; Factory Girl in ‘Les Misérables’ at The Queens Theatre (West End); Baba Yaga in ‘Hansel & Gretel’ at The Actor’s Church and Eulampia Petrovna in ‘Black Snow’ at Moscow Arts Theatre.

As well as acting, I have a great passion for teaching and I’ve been working with Temple Academy for the past 4 years and it’s truly the most special performing arts school I’ve ever come across. The school’s supportive and positive attitude ensures every student gets a chance to shine and I take this ethos with me into all of my lessons. I feel very strongly about how the arts can benefit a child’s life in their social skills, confidence, discipline and creativity and you really do learn it all at TAPA.

Some of my proudest moments have been seeing the students shine on stage; the confidence it takes for a young person to stand on stage, be comfortable in their own skin, take their moment and fly, is just magic.

I hope to see you at one of our classes soon!
