Busy December

On December 2nd, 40 singing students (some straight out of their ballet exam that morning) turned up in Bromley to perform at the truning on of the Christmas Lights. We ahs practised very hard for this event and we were very confident of putting on a stunning performance. All rehearsals had run like clockwork and the singing was sounding fantastic. As we all got on stage, we noticed how wobbly it was and unfortunately it meant our performance wasn’t 100%. Regardless of the exceptionally difficult circumstances, all the students performed brilliantly and I was so proud of the way they took it all in their stride. I couldn’t have asked for anymore for anyone. Well done to everyone involved – you showed true professionalism.
Exams
Well done to all the exam candidates who have taken a Ballet, Tap or Modern exam this month. Both examiners commented on how well turned out every student was and what a pleasure it has been to examine at TAPA. I look forward to another set of fantastic results. Well done everyone.(I have a pic)
TAPA Christmas Party
Thank you to the PA who ran another very successful Chrsitmas Party. Our very special guest turned up on time to hand out a present to every boy and girl (thanks Santa) and there was a lot of dancing and jumping about taking place. Our youngest party goer (Harry at 17 months) thought it was fabulous (pic) and so did everyone else. It was very well organised and everyone had enough to eat and drink thanks to the PA. Thanks also to the older girls who came to help out and kept all the younger children safe and on their feet. (pic0

Pyjama Day

Congratulations to everyone who came to classes dressed in a wonderful array of Pyjamas. This week is always so much fun and everyone entered into the spirit of it. We had lots of fun in classes with sleepy themes and most importantly, we raised £300 for Children in Need. Well doneto everyone involved.

Auditions

Auditions!!!! Congratulations to all the children selected to join TAPA Agency. It was a tough audition and not everyone made it but certainly not due to the lack of talent. The Directors were very impressed and are really looking forward to sending these talented children off to lots of auditions. You can see some of the successful applicants on the Agency page.

The Show

The show. (pics or link to) All of TAPA really excelled this week. It was the hottest day of the year and a completely sold out auditorium but everyone performed to the best of their ability. You really worked hard and we (all the teachers) are very proud of what you achieved. Thank you to everyone who helped in whatever way – it’s a true team effort.
The end of this month sees the beginning of TAPA Agency run expertly by Claire and Abi. There was a wonderful workshop run by the very talented actor Adam Pearce and WestEend performer Katy Day. They were both very impressed with the talent here at TAPA and thoroughly enjoyed their day with us. A really fantastic way to finish off this very busy month.

Show Rehearsals

Rehaersals (pics) are well under way now for our show in July. Everyone is working so hard and I can’t wait to see it all come together. This week we recorded some vocals fot the 1st half story. Izzy, Emma and Katie did a fantastic job and nailed all their lines really quickly (pic). It’s going to be so good.

Congratulations to Zahra

Congratulations to Zahra Wardahna O’Reilly on her performance as Gretl in The Sound of Music at The Churchill Theatre. (Link to FB page?). She gave an astounding performance and I was so proud to hear how professional Zahra was not only onstage but behind it as well. Well done Zahra and keep up the good work.

Charlie Bruce comes to TAPA

We are very excited to welcome BBC1’s SYTYCD winner to TAPA as our new Contemporary teacher. Charlie Bruce will be taking a class on Monday evening and working on a show piece for our upcoming production ‘A Step in Time’. Charlie is really looking forward to working with the students here and it promises to be a fantastic experience for all involved.
